Confused?! Don’t be! It all makes perfect tasty sense!
When Mac Met Cheese was a pop up foodie place in previous places around London. Earlier last year they were based in Bayswater and with very ill timing we decided to go a day after they closed… Genius – Not! Gutted we missed out, but it was meant to be!
Being a Kensal Riser – I love all our local places, one of which is ” The Shop NW10″ – no it’s really called The Shop. ( this sometimes creates confusion in conversations! Loll) it also serves cocktails in Jam Jars…
And there in my Twitter feed was the announcement of The Shop as the next destination for the Mac Met Cheese Pop – up! I couldn’t quite contain my delight… As you can probably tell, I like a bit of Mac and cheese.
Straight from work, we popped in and tried the “Hurricane” and “shop credit” cocktails. Both great, Shop Credit with a slight more punch than the first, and went on to order our food…
Here’s a sneak peek at the menu
I chose cheddar and jalapeño balls ( you get two in a portion) aptly known as Mancancini’s,followed by a main of Carlos the Cactus. My friend tried the Truffle & Wild Mushroom balls, followed by Mum’s classic and accompanied by Garden Salad with a mimosa dressing.
We then shared a portion of deep fried Oreos ( 4 in a pack) …naturally my sweet tooth meant I couldn’t of course not try this! They were like light doughnut bites. Really nice. However the icing sugar will end up everywhere, so uh eat normally? 🙂
Bill came to £30 for our food and £32 for our 4 cocktails.
Mine definitely had more flavour than the original so I strongly recommend this one.
The Pop up is in Kensal Rise until April. Times: 6-10pm Weds – Fri / 12-10pm on Saturdays /12-6pm on Sunday’s.
Staff are fantastic and vibe is chilled and relaxed in there…so make sure you visit. The shop also have had several pop ups in since they’ve opened, so keep informed.
